Helium balloons in Porto: what to know before you order
Latex balloons filled with helium float for about 24 hours. Foil balloons last several days. That single difference decides when you should collect them, and it is the question we answer most often at our Porto store. Here is everything else worth knowing before you order.
How long do helium balloons last?
Our latex balloons are treated with Hi-Float, a liquid that coats the inside and holds the helium far better than an untreated balloon. That takes them to roughly 24 hours instead of a few hours.

Getting them home safely
- Avoid direct sun and heat. A car parked in the sun is the worst place for balloons. Sudden temperature changes are what damages them most.
- Keep them away from rough walls and sharp edges. Brick, stone and furniture corners end a balloon in seconds.
- Do not overinflate. An overfilled balloon pops easily and loses its round shape.
- Supervise young children. A balloon is a party object, not a toy to leave a small child alone with.
We never fill a balloon that does not look safe to us or that may be faulty. When in doubt, we replace it. Once they leave the store, transport and care are on your side, which is why those four points matter.
